When selecting the size of hook or chain, it's important to match the Grade specification for your transport application, typically G70 for most Canadian transport needs. Additionally, ensure that the Working Load Limit (WLL) is not exceeded by your cargo.
How do I assemble the Cargo Chain and Binders, and also the protectors?
Cargo chains purchased in a fixed length will almost always come with a hook. If not, you'll need a hook at both ends to connect the chain to your cargo. Stock up on the required amount and the proper types of corner protectors to ensure your cargo is fully protected.
For larger loads, you may need to connect two or more chains. This can be done using a link or some type of slip hook, or by using a ratchet binder for maximum security.
