FAQs

What applications are the steel tarps best suited for?

Think sturdy shoulders for your heavy hauls! Steel tarps are sized for shorter, dense loads like steel sheets, rods, and coils. They come in standard sets and even a dedicated option for B-trains. But don't be limited – these workhorses can tackle other bulky cargo too! And for round shapes like coils, our Coil Bags offer snug protection.

Where can I see a video or images of what they really look like?
Each product has some images you can view, but you can get a good idea of what these tarps are like and their amazing high quality, by watching this very short video:

What sizes do you carry?
From single 16x16' tarps to massive 16x56' sets, we've got your steel covered! Need something even bigger? Custom sizes are a phone call away!

What materials are they made of?
All steel tarps are Heavy Duty and are made from durable, heavy-duty black vinyl coated PVC material that is 20 Mil thick, weighs 18 oz. per square yard, and has a cold crack rating of -40C, making them waterproof, as well as rot, UV and oil resistant.

We use #4 Brass grommets and 2” Stainless Steel D-rings.

Also, each box-stitched D-ring has a vinyl wear patch under it to prevent scuffing and tears from rubber strap connection points.

What is the purpose of the wear flap underneath the D-rings?
The wear flap is so that there is enhanced protection for your steel tarp at the place most likely to wear out. With the wear flap, the rope will not rub as much against the tarp at a high stress point. This gives your tarp a longer lifespan, saving you expense, and the hassle of having to get a new one. Time is money!

You have a nice set of lumber tarps. What’s the difference between your steel tarps and your lumber tarps?
Since steel is much heavier than lumber, you can’t haul loads as high as you can with lumber. So the tarps meant for steel are smaller and have shorter drops ( 4 ft. to 6 ft. versus 8 ft. to 10 ft.).

Otherwise, the tarps are made from the same exact material: heavy-duty black vinyl coated PVC tarp material that is 20 Mil thick and weighs 18 oz. per square yard. Our 18 oz. vinyl material has a cold crack rating of -40C.
